9.38KM Prayer Walk
During the month of November, we are asking churches and individuals to walk 9.38 km in prayer for the Hope Alive Network and for the nation of Japan. We are specifically praying for 938 participants to join this campaign. Each participant is encouraged to donate $100 as a year-end gift to support the building purchase. Everyone who registers will receive a 9:38 bracelet as a tangible reminder to continue praying throughout the campaign.
God is at work! Over the past few years, we’ve had the privilege of seeing God move in incredible ways here. People have heard the gospel for the first time, been baptized, and experienced life transformation. We are so grateful for your partnership in seeing these changes happen.
We want to invite you to join us in the next step of partnering with us to raise $250,000 by the end of the year to purchase the Hope Alive Church building. This building will serve as a long-term foundation for ministry in the community and provide a space where the gospel can continue to impact lives for years to come.
When you sign up, we will also mail you a list of specific prayer requests to guide your prayers as you walk. We encourage you to partner with your church and friends, pray intentionally, walk in faith, and give generously. Together, we can make a lasting impact through this building, creating a place where the gospel can be shared and lives can be transformed for many years to come.

When is the event?
This can be done individually through the end of the year at your own pace. If you can’t do the full 9.38km in one day please feel free to split the km’s up however you see fit. It is also possible to find a church in your area to host the event or participate with.

We would love for 938 people to participate in praying and walking together and make a year end donation of $100. Here are our prayer requests: Training leaders: Ask God to send a new intern to train at Hope Alive. Visitors: Continue to pray for new people to come to Hope Alive every week. Discipleship:Pray for more volunteers to lead small groups and more people to be involved in discipleship groups. Salvations: Ask God for 25 baptisms and salvations in 2025. Generosity:Pray that we can raise the funds to purchase the building. Grow: Pray for a successful launch of Hope Alive Ikebukuro.

The need in Japan
While the need is great in Japan. The opportunity is also great. At Hope Alive church we have seen God do some great things and seen our church grow in great ways. We have seen God do some miraculous things. We have seen people come out of depression and come to know Jesus. We have seen families who are now walking with the Lord and raising their children in a healthy environment that points those children to Jesus. All of this happened because people heard the gospel. Last year at Hope Alive four people a week came to church for the very first time. Many of them it was the first time for them to hear the gospel. Their first time to set foot in a church.
At 9:38, a significant moment is coming about—a pipeline of 1000 people praying and partnering to reach the unreached with the gospel. Taken from Matthew 9:38, this time signifies a prayer for God to send laborers into his harvest. As we ponder sharing the gospel in Japan and supporting the need for more churches, envision a movement of churches being planted all over the country.
